Since January 2013, financial advisers no longer receive commission when they recommend an investment or pension fund. This eliminated the potential for some solutions to be recommended because of the amount of commission this would generate for the adviser.
All financial advisers now charge fees directly to their clients. There are some circumstances where these fees, which are always agreed with you first, can be paid via your investment or your pension fund.
We always offer an initial meeting with you without charge and without obligation. We prefer this initial meeting to be at our offices in Malvern, but if this is not possible, we can usually come to meet you at home or at your place of work.
The initial meeting helps us chat through your requirements. It lets us talk about how we might (or in some cases might not) be able to help you, and what the likely costs of our services would be.
Following this initial meeting, we will write to you and set out our understanding of your financial planning needs. At this stage, we will also confirm to you the cost of our services. If you wish to proceed and to work with us, you simply need to let us know that you would like to go ahead.
Our fees will vary depending on the type of work you are asking us to carry out. We may charge on a percentage of the amount you invest, on a set 'project fee' or on an hourly rate.
Nothing will be charged without your prior agreement and we will always clearly demonstrate that the value you'll receive as a result of engaging with us, will far outweigh the costs.
If you would like to see some of our typical charges, please contact us to request a copy of our Client Agreement which gives some standard costs. Our regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority, insists that we provide details of our maximum charges on this document. However as we always work on a case by case basis, these are for guidance only and in many cases, our fees are significantly less than the examples provided.
